When it’s Time to Ask for Professional Furniture Help

Most furniture feels the daily wear and tear of constant use.  There comes a time when you’ll need to get a professional Idaho Falls furniture restoration company to bring your more valued pieces back their full glory. Tobin Cleaning and Restoration works to restore your furniture to its original, beautiful glory.  It takes more than the right tools to complete a skilled job without damaging the furniture.

Many restorations that go wrong are results of insufficient knowledge about how best to restore a piece of furniture.  The goal is not to simply repair the furniture and make it usable again.  Instead, the goal should be returning your furniture back to the original condition that appealed to you in the first place.  When dealing with a restoration, re-stabilizing the furniture and refinishing it if needed is typically part of the process.

Be careful about who you entrust with your furniture, there are some “restorations” that can be reversed and repaired but in most cases there is damage that cannot be undone.  When you go to have your furniture refurnished, be sure to ask for options to choose from.  There’s never just one way to restore a piece of furniture and you have the right to choose how it is done.

Midnight Emergency Calls for a Cleanup

The call came in the middle of the night, around 11pm.  There had been a fire in a room in the local Idaho Falls medical center that had set off all the sprinklers in the building.  Not only was there a burnt out room that needed to be dealt with but there were so many other rooms that needed all the water cleaned up and out. With water dripping off beds, doorways, and down the walls, the Tobin Cleaning and Restoration crew was called in to clean up a sooty, and very watery mess.

The patients, nurses, and others who were inside when the sprinklers went off, watched and waited as the crew drove up with their truck-mounted extraction equipment.  With only a few hours to get it everything fixed and righted, the dedicated Tobin crew consisting of 10 men set to work quickly and efficiently. Time was short.  The medical center needed to get the patients, mainly kids back into their rooms where they could once again be adequately cared for.

The truck-mounted extraction equipment was used to pull out all the water so that the air movers (big ol’ fans) could get to work drying the building.  From there the Tobin men split up into two groups to get the work done faster.

The first crew, also called the mitigation crew, set out to dry out the water damaged rooms and get them back into shape.  They spent the time drying walls and ceilings, basically drying anything the air movers weren’t drying fast enough.  The other crew became the clean up crew.  They cleaned up the mess that the fire made, including all the burnt debris and the accompanying soot.

Both Tobin Restoration crews were out of a now dry and clean medical building by 2 am, letting the kids get back to their rooms…and beds.

In the middle of the night disaster struck and yet in the morning there was no sign that any problem had even existed.  As a final clean up, Tobin Cleaning and Restoration came back the day after the midnight trauma and cleaned the carpets.

What more can you expect from a company that is not only certified by The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration (IICRC) but also a company who has each crew member certified in Water Restoration (WRT).

Don’t Wait…Clean!

Dusty FootprintWhen you are tight on money it hard to convince yourself to spend extra money on something you could probably do a credible job for yourself. With carpet cleaning this isn’t the solution. A vacuum only has so much power and only picks up what it can. Waiting to clean your carpet might end up costing you more than if you would’ve just caved in and kept them professionally maintained.

Everyone knows that dirt makes everything dirtier. Waiting to clean it out of anything is not going to make it any cleaner, in fact it could cause your carpet to look dirty even after its been cleaned. Some of that dirt that has been sitting there long enough can stain your carpet fibers. Once this happens a professional carpet cleaning company is the only solution worth considering.

Dirt that settles down into the weave of the carpet can start to degrade the carpet. Think of the dirt as if it were sandpaper constantly rubbing, grinding, and wearing down the fibers holding your carpet together. Add on top of all that, every time you step on it, you add even more pressure to the “sandpaper” dirt, allowing it to wreck more havoc and destruction on your carpet.

Take care of your carpet by getting it regularly cleaned by a professional cleaning company that specializes in carpet cleaning. Don’t wait till your carpet is dying and suffocating under the dirt. Give your carpet a fresher, longer lifespan that will save you money in the end.

Clean is Clean When it Comes to Carpets

Clean is Clean CarpetsSome people have heard that cleaning causes carpets to become dirty faster. This may have been true back when soap, or a soapy substance, was used to attempt to get clean carpets. However, if you go with a professional cleaning company you won’t have to worry about any soap being left behind and causing havoc on your carpet.

Soap is designed to absorb and dissolve dirt so that the area you are cleaning is dirt-free. However, the way soap is designed presents a problem. Soap has two facets to it: the part that works with the water, and the part that works with the dirt. If any soap is left on the carpet as the water dries it leaves your carpet with dirty, dry soap residue.

So instead of having a clean carpet you have a soapy carpet along with the dirt attracting part of the soap that was left behind. Since the one and only function of soap is to attract dirt, it will keep on doing so, making your carpet look even dirtier than before you washed it.

There is a difference when you have your carpets cleaned by a professional and when you attempt to clean your carpet yourself. This misconception may hold true for you if you try cleaning your carpet and not letting a professional carpet cleaner do what he does and knows best. Don’t let this unfortunate misconception happen to you. Call a professional and save time and money. Your carpets will stay clean longer with no soap residue to absorb any dirt near it.

At Tobin Cleaning and Restoration we can help you have the cleanest carpets possible for the longest amount of time.
